The Vercors and beyond

The Vercors National Park spans 135,000 hectares of high-altitude limestone plateau, deep gorges, cliffs, peaks and valleys. It shelters a remarkable range of ecosystems and sustains rich biodiversity. For walkers, it is an exceptional setting.

In April and early May, spring flowers begin to emerge and the landscape stirs back to life after winter. Few people live here, and traditional ways endure largely unchanged. Your engaging guide knows the region intimately, with deep knowledge of the flora and fauna, geology and history of the Drôme and Vercors. He will lead a memorable selection of dramatic yet accessible circuits, with views stretching towards Mont Blanc and Mont Ventoux, while sharing insights into the Maquis and even the return of wolves.

A home from home

You will stay in a peaceful, family-run hotel in Saillans, renowned as much for its excellent cuisine as for its warm hospitality — a true home from home. At the end of the day, enjoy a swim in the pool, relax in the gardens, or take a gentle stroll through the village. In the evening, savour thoughtfully prepared four-course dinners, often served on the terrace, featuring fresh local ingredients and accompanied by regional wines.
